CHICAGO, Ill (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-0 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader on Monday at Wrigley Field. The second game was rained out. The two teams will play a DH today.
Brice Turang and Caleb Durbin hit home runs and drove in two runs each. Joey Ortiz also had an RBI.
Freddy Peralta picked up his 15th win of the season with six shutout innings allowing just one hit with six Ks and three walks. Abner Uribe, Jared Koenig and Grant Anderson finished up allowing just one hit combined over the final three innings.
The Brewers, now 79-45 and nine games up on the Cubs in the standings, will play a DH with Chicago today. First pitch at 1:20 on WSAU.
