The city of Wausau may finally wash its hands of the land at 208 and 214 Wyatt Street.
The property, which was at the center of a canceled redevelopment deal with a 17-year-old earlier this year, may be sold to Troy Engman. That’s according to Tuesday’s Economic Development Committee agenda.
Engman’s proposal includes a $3,500 sale price, with plans for a single-family home worth up to $200,000. Engman says he would contract out foundation work, remediation, utility connections, and the shell of the house. He would finish the interior himself. He plans to move into the home to be closer to family.
His proposal includes a pre-approval letter from a local Credit Union. It would also require a variance because the size of the garage exceeds what is permitted by the city’s zoning code.
See more on Engman’s request in Tuesday’s agenda packet. The meeting begins at 5:30 at City Hall.
