WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) – The American Red Cross of Wisconsin is hosting a blood drive event in Wausau called Battle of the Badges.
The Regional Communications Director, Jennifer Warren, explains, ” The Wausau Police Department and the Wausau Fire Department team up with the American Red Cross to see who can recruit the most blood donors during the Battle of the Badges blood drive. It’s kind of a friendly competition that pits the local first responders against each other to find out which department can donate more pints.”
Everyone is urged to donate, vote for their favorite responder, and help maintain a healthy blood supply. The event is being hosted on September 11th at the Public Safety Building in Wausau and will be open by appointment.
People who donate between August 29th and September 21st will get an exclusive Red Cross Peanuts mystery bag with one of four special T-shirt Designs.
