WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Another Never Forgotten Honor Flight takes off from the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee on Monday. The non-profit organization gives veterans who have served before May 7, 1975, a flight from Central and Northern Wisconsin to Washington D.C. to see the War Memorials crafted in their honor.
Monday’s flight features 98 veterans accompanied by 74 guardians. This is the 53rd flight since the organization started in April 2010, and after Monday, it will have flown 5,025 tons to Washington, D.C.
The general public is invited to the Welcome Home Party at Central Wisconsin Airport on Monday night to welcome the veterans home. It’s recommended to show up no later than 8:30 pm.
