Milwaukee Brewers
MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers advanced to the National League Championship Series with a Game 5 win over the Cubs, 3-1.
The Brewers cobbled together enough pitching to win. Jacob Misiorowski pitched four innings, striking out 3 and allowing only one run. Abner Uribe worked the 8th and 9th innings and allowed only one baserunner. The Cubs managed only 4 hits in defeat.
The Brewers scored all three of their runs on solo home runs from Brice Turang, William Contraras, and Andrew Vaughn – his 4th homer of the series.
It’s the Brewers first appearance in the league championship series in 7 years.
The Brewers will host the Dodgers on Monday night. Game coverage begins at 6:30 on WSAU.
