TOWN OF GERMANIA, WI (WSAU) — One person is dead and another is in jail as officers investigate a homicide in Shawano County.
Officers were called to a property in the Town of Germania, near Tigerton, on Wednesday, where they found a 67-year-old man dead in a barn. The 74-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene.
The incident also involved a third person, who had initially called 911 while barricading themselves inside another building. That person told officers someone had shot their friend, and that person was now coming for them.
The reporting person had armed themselves with a gun and fired at the suspect through a door. The suspect was treated for a non-life-threatening injury before they were booked in the Shawano County Jail.
All three people knew each other and were connected through the ownership of hunting land in the area. It’s unclear what sparked the argument.
Names of those involved have not been released.
