MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers swung a trade over the weekend sending outfielder Issac Collins and pitcher Nick Mears to the Kansas City Royals for left-handed relief pitcher Angel Zerpa.
The 26 year old Zerpa was 5-2 with a 4.18 ERA last season in a career-high 69 appearances for KC. He set career highs for innings pitched (64.2) strikeouts (58) and holds (14). He has pitched in the majors for parts of five seasons with the Royals.
Collins hit .263 with nine homers and 54 RBIs for Milwaukee. Mears was 5-3 with a 3.49 ERA in 63 appearances with the Brewers.
