WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Leaders at John Muir Middle School held an open house to show off nearly $35 million in upgrades made possible through a 2022 referendum.
Principal Angela Rodgers says the improvements will help students prepare for life after school. “I feel like the improvements that were made will continue to push us and give students expierences that they will see in life after high school.”
Among the areas that saw significant investments were manufacturing and tech ed classrooms, music classrooms, and gym space.
John Muir Middle School got the lion’s share of the $120 million referendum, which voters approved by a roughly 60%-40% margin. West High School received about $32 million in upgrades; other buildings saw or will see between $200,000 and $6.8 million in work.
