WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Every year, our friends at WDEZ ask. And every year, Central Wisconsin steps up big.
The 2026 Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon brought in $230,967 to help fund research and treatment at the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN. Donations came from local businesses and listeners, including those who became a “Partner in Hope” by committing $19 per month.
Families who get treatment at St. Jude never receive a bill for care or lodging. Additionally, breakthroughs from St. Jude’s research are shared with other hospitals around the world.
Brand Manager Bryan Scott says the event is not just a tradition that comes around once every year for him. “It’s about raising money for the research, saving kids’ lives, and trying to kill cancer.”
The WDEZ event is held each February.
