Jon "Jake" Morgan
WAUPACA, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — Law enforcement in Waupaca County has announced a break in the disappearance of 23-year-old Jon “Jake” Morgan.
Officers announced the arrest of an unnamed suspect on Facebook, providing “deepest sympathies to the Morgan family and respectfully ask that their privacy be honored at this difficult time.”
WAOW TV has identified the suspect as 31-year-old Desiree Osman of Antigo, who is accused of providing Morgan with the fentanyl that led to his death. She is also charged with hiding a corpse and delivering heroin.
She will make a court appearance on Friday afternoon.
Morgan was last seen in the King area on March 6th, 2020. He was reported missing two days later. Details on the case have been few and far between since then, though family members have maintained a “Help us find Jon/Jake Morgan” Facebook page, sharing photos and continued calls for tips that could lead to a break.
Thursday’s announcement was the result of a multi-agency effort involving law enforcement and investigators at every level, including police from New London and Waupaca, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation, FBI, US Marshals, the US Department of Homeland Security, and INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization). More information is expected to come in due course.
