Justin Wojtalewicz
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – An Amherst man was sentenced to 8 years in prison on Wednesday for shooting and injuring his brother during an argument in 2025
Justin Wojtalewicz faced five felony counts after officers said he shot his brother, Ryan Wojtalewicz, at a home on Mill Street in Amherst last spring.
Ryan was hospitalized for a gunshot wound in his leg, but survived the incident.
In November, he was found not guilty of the most serious charge of attempted homicide, but guilty on aggravated battery, mayhem, use of a dangerous weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Following the 8 years behind bars, Wojtalewicz will need to serve 6 years of extended supervision.
