Wisconsin Badgers
CHICAGO, IL (WSAU) — Wisconsin trailed by as many as 15 points, but thanks to big nights from John Blackwell and Nick Boyd, the Badgers defeated Illinois 91-88 in the Big Ten Tournament on Friday.
The backcourt combo combined for 69 points; Boyd with 38 and Blackwell dropping 31. It’s the first time that Wisconsin has had two players score more than 30 points in a game since 1968.
Austin Rapp added eight points and grabbed nine rebounds, just missing a double-double. No other Badger scored more than six.
Wisconsin advances to the tournament semifinals on Saturday and will play Michigan at Noon. The Badgers’ call of will be heard on WSAU with pregame coverage at 11:30. The other semifinal matches Purdue and UCLA, which can be heard on 93.9 The Game.
