STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Stevens Point man was found guilty on nine of 10 felony charges tied to a 2022 shooting at a mobile home park.
On March 30, 2022, officers found a man at a home on Torun Road with a gunshot wound to the leg. Daniel Alton Reese Jr. was identified as a suspect, and police found him later that week at the Stevens Point Econo Lodge.
Police say when they showed up, Reese took off in a car with another person inside. After a short chase, police took Reese into custody.
Officers found a handgun, other weapons and body armor with him.
After four days of trial, a jury found him guilty of nine counts including armed robbery with threat of force, aggravated battery, kidnapping, recklessly endangering safety and other charges.
Reese’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 22.
