MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers and top prospect Cooper Pratt have officially announced a ten-year deal for the 21-year-old Shortstop.
The deal puts Pratt on Milwaukee’s 40-man roster, with the team assigning him to Triple-A Nashville to start the season. Outfielder Steward Berroa was designated for assignment to make room for Pratt.
“We are very excited to make this long-term commitment to Cooper,” said President of Baseball Operations Matt Arnold in a press release. “He is a player we feel will be an instrumental part of our future success in Milwaukee. Cooper has all the tools to be a special player, and we are thrilled that he will be in a Brewers uniform for years to come. This commitment continues to show our organization’s passion, led by ownership, to consistently produce a winning team season after season.”
Reports indicate that the deal is worth more than $50 million and will lock Pratt up through 2033 with club options for 2034 and ’35. Outfielder Jackson Chourio was given a similar deal two years ago.
Pratt posted a .238 batting average with 22 doubles, eight home runs, and 62 RBI while playing for Double-A Biloxi in 2025. In the first three games of the season with Nashville, he’s 4-15 with four singles.
The Brewers selected Pratt in the 6th round of the 2023 draft and used a $1.3 million signing bonus to lure him out of a scholarship offer from Ole Miss.
