MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting investigation in Marshfield.
Police were called to an area near Hume Avenue and Filmore Street at 7:20 PM on Thursday after someone reported gunfire during an altercation between two groups. A 16-year-old boy was taken from the scene for minor injuries, with officers determining that those were not sustained as a result of the gunshot.
The 18-year-old, who has not yet been identified, was arrested on suspicion of recklessly endangering safety and taken to the Wood County Jail. Formal charges are pending.
A juvenile was also taken into custody as a result of the incident. They were turned over to Wood County Human Services.
Officers say this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. The investigation remains active, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Marshfield Police Department.
