PLOVER, WI (WSAU) — A local staple is expanding its footprint into the Village of Plover.
Administrator Steven Kunst says Knolton-based Mullins Dairy is finalizing its new Whey Protein production facility in Plover, a development that he says fits well with the industry the village was built on. “The food production industry is what Plover does well. We have a lot of significant employers in the industry, and it lends itself to our location. Our workforce is well-suited for that [as well,] so it is nice that we are continuing to build on that.”
The company took over the former Foremost Foods site, which has been idle for years, reworking it into a modern production facility. “It’s a huge expansion and a huge investment in the Plover community. It’s something that we are really proud of,” said Kunst.
He says the fact that they are a family-owned company from Central Wisconsin is even better. “We are always looking for [companies] that want to be a good member of our community, and Mullin’s is certainly that.”
Mullin’s will continue to operate a factory and retail store in Knowlton. Members of the family also own the Knowlton House Distillery just down the road.
