Green Bay Packers
GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers will begin training camp this week, Wednesday, and are expected to give several young players extended looks in the coming weeks as they continue to see who will start in Week 1.
According to CBS Sports, German-born kicker Lenny Krieg will be in Green Bay on Monday to work out for the coaching staff, who are looking for options to compete with rookie Trey Smack for the team’s kicker position in 2026.
Krieg, 23, spent the 2025 season on the Atlanta Falcons’ practice squad and was 1-2 on field goal attempts last preseason, including a make from 57 yards. He has also competed in the German Football League and the European League of Football in recent years.
Other key positions that will feature tough competitions for starting jobs will include pass rusher, as Barryn Sorrell, Collin Oliver, rookie Dani Dennis-Sutton, and Brenton Cox Jr. will all be competing for snaps while Micah Parsons continues to rehab from his ACL tear, and cornerback, as Carrington Valentine, Benjamin St-Juste, and rookie Brandon Cisse will compete for snaps opposite Keisean Nixon.
