MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers have made several roster moves ahead of Tuesday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, opting to send down one of their young pitchers.
According to a post on X from the team, the Brewers have optioned starting pitcher Brandon Sproat and reliever Garrett Stallings to AAA-Nashville to make room for newly acquired pitchers Dustin May and Antonio Senzatela on the active roster.
Sproat, 25, has struggled in his first season with Milwaukee, going 3-7 with a 5.27 ERA, and spoke to the media after Monday night’s loss, saying, “I’m not going to stress over it and try to play GM. That’s not my job. I’m just going to keep pushing forward.”
May is scheduled to make his Brewers debut on Thursday against the Pirates, and Kyle Harrison will make his long-awaited return to the big leagues on Wednesday.
