(LEARFIELD) – Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst spent considerable time talking with the media Tuesday morning and covered a number of topics.
For starters, he said that he didn’t need to see Tucker Kraft return to 11-on-11 drills to advance contract negotiations.
He was also asked if it is feasible for the Packers to keep 7 wide receivers.
Quarterback Kyle McCord is currently the third quarterback in training camp. Gutekunst said that it is important to perform when you get an opportunity.
He added this about McCord.
On linebacker Zaire Franklin, Gutekunst was asked what he saw from Franklin to bring him to Green Bay.
The Packers have a handful of players in camp – Chris McClellen, Jager Burton, Dennis Sutton – who are all players who played 4 or more years in college. Gutekunst said that is giving them the experience to contribute in the NFL right away.
Much was made over the weekend over Keisean Nixon and what group he was practicing with. Gutekunst said that he has no problem with Keisean Nixon.
