GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers have signed another tight end to their roster.
According to NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, the Packers and former Pro Bowl tight end Jonnu Smith have agreed to a one-year deal after playing for the Steelers and Dolphins the last two seasons.
Smith, 31, was a 3rd-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and has totaled more than 3500 career receiving yards and 30 career touchdowns.
The Packers said on Wednesday that Tucker Kraft is expected to be fully active come Week 1 against the Vikings. Still, the future of Luke Musgrave with Green Bay appears to be coming to an end after he suffered a neck injury in July, and the team is unsure if it will impact his ability to play football long-term.
