CHICAGO, IL (WSAU) – The Cubs opened a critical series against the Brewers with a 17-3 blowout win. Chicago hit a franchise record 9-home runs in the game.
Alex Bregman hit three home runs. The Cubs hit back-to-back homers twice, in the 1st and 4th innings.
Clay Holmes pitched six scoreless innings for Chicago.
Brewers starter Kyle Harrison had his worst start of the year, allowing 9 runs before exiting in the 4th inning.
Chicago and Milwaukee have six head-to-head games remaining this season. They play again in Chicago tonight at 6:05pm on WSAU. The Brewers are up by 7 games in the NL Central standings.
