WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The former Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Marshfield will not be sentenced for fraud today as scheduled.
Iilee Pederson was due for a plea and sentencing hearing this morning in Wood County for allegations of stealing six figures from the group’s checkbooks, then taking the money for her own use. Authorities say the withdrawals happened between June 2024 and June ’22, with the 40-year-old then presenting other leaders with redacted or altered bank statements to cover up the transactions.
She now faces eight felony counts, including money laundering, fraud by a corporate officer, and theft in a business setting. Prosecutors also filed two misdemeanor counts for theft in a business setting of less than $2,500.
The charity has recovered about $100,000 from its insurance company.
A plea and sentencing hearing is now scheduled for November 10th. Court records do not indicate what led to the delay.
Pederson is free on a $50,000 signature bond with several conditions, including a full no-contact order with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Marshfield. She is also barred from working for any other charitable group and cannot leave Wisconsin without prior approval.
