WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) A woman was rescued from the Wisconsin River near downtown Wausau on Saturday night.
How or why she went into the water is unclear. First responders say she was clinging to a buoy when she was pulled to safety around 7pm.
The woman may have entered the water near the Bull Falls gazebo, a well-known homeless encampment.
A second person also entered the water to attempt a rescue. They were also pulled to safety by first responders.
No names or conditions have been made public.
