MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK)– The Wisconsin DHS is reporting 2,757 new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, down from the seven-day average.
Sunday’s new cases account for 22.6% of the days results after the DHS says 12,175 test results were processed.
The seven-day case average on Sunday is 3,513, slightly below Saturday’s reported average of 3,518.
Just 15 deaths are being reported by the DHS Sunday, a significant decrease from Saturday’s 50 deaths which put the state above 4,000 total COVID-19 deaths.
Sunday’s coronavirus death total is also the lowest reported number since only six were reported on Monday, November 30.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 2,687,539 people tested, 436,773 positive cases, 2,250,766 negative test results, and 4,056 COVID-19 deaths.
The DHS considers 386,655 patients to be recovered from COVID-19, while 45,987 cases are currently active.
There are seven patients receiving care at the Alternate Care Facility at State Fair Park as of 11 a.m. Sunday, one less patient than Saturday.
