MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Wisconsin Department of Health is reporting 35-hundred new COVID-19 cases over the last day.
The Department of Health Services reported 3,501 new cases, or 48% of the 7,299 tests completed. Overall testing was the lowest since Sept. 21, continuing a trend of declining test numbers seen since Thanksgiving.
Another 54 new deaths were reported on Tuesday.
Seven-day averages moved to 3,421 new cases, 27.5% test positivity and 45 deaths.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 442,396 confirmed cases, nearly 2.3 million negative tests and 4,122 deaths. DHS considers 390,003 people to have recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the new coronavirus.
