MADISON, WI (WSAU) Louisville arrived in Madison short-handed because of COVID-19 within their basketball program. They were sent home with their first loss of the season.
Louisville hadn’t played since December 1.
The Wisconsin Badgers limited Louisville to just 18 points in the 1st half, and cruised to an 85-48 win. Wisconsin rattled off 16 consecutive points early in the game, and led early 25-4. The Badgers improved to 6-1 for the season. Louisville fell to 4-1. It was Louisville’s most lopsided defeat since a 45-point loss to Xavier in 1956.
Micah Potter led the Badgers with 20 points. Aleem Ford had 12. Trevor Anderson had 11. Brad Davidson added 10.
Louisville’s top scorer, Carlick Jones, did not play.
Wisconsin was sharp from the outside, hitting 10-of-17 from behind the 3-point line.
The Badgers open Big Ten play next Tuesday against Nebraska.
