WESTON, WI (WSAU) — A hardwood floor manufacturer is working to expand its presence in the Village of Weston.
On Monday the Village Board of Trustees voted to finalize the sale of just under four acres of land in the industrial park to From the Forest LLC to make way for a 62,000 square foot addition to their plant.
Plans for the addition include additional office space and additional parking.
According to the terms of the sale, From the Forest will pay $96,800 for the currently vacant parcel.
The sale was handled in a special meeting of Trustees just before Monday’s regular Plan Commission meeting, which also approved plans for the facility.
A special board meeting was required after it was discovered that the purchase agreement had not been taken to the board for action, which was required by the closing agent to complete the sale.
Construction will not begin until final approval is granted by both the village and state. The expansion will lead to an additional 20 to 30 jobs at the plant.
From the Forest, LLC creates wood flooring and wall paneling and has been in operation in Weston since 2007.
(Editor’s note: an earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the expanded facility would not create any additional jobs. WSAU News regrets the error)
