MARATHON COUNTY, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The Wisconsin DNR is warning the ice fishing and snowmobiling communities about the aeration process which will begin today on the Big Eau Pleine Flowage.
This process helps maintain proper oxygen levels in the water and helps keep down algae bloom-related fish kill in the summer.
After the aeration process, there will be big holes in the ice that will get bigger every day. Anglers and snowmobilers are asked to follow the warning signs and rope barriers to avoid problems.
