MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — A Marshfield man is facing charges after police made a major drug bust early Thursday morning.
An officer stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of South Central Avenue just after 2:00 a.m., knowing that the driver — a 40-year-old Marshfield man — did not have a valid driver’s license. The officer requested the assistance of K-9 Officer Rika, who alerted the officer to the presence of a controlled substance.
A search of the vehicle turned up two bags of suspected methamphetamine totaling 16.9 grams, and a larger bag weighing just over 73 grams. The potential street value of the drug is estimated at $9,000.
The man was taken into custody and transported to the Wood County Jail. Charges of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to deliver, felony and misdemeanor bail jumping are being recommended to the Wood County District Attorney’s Office.
