TOWN OF CARSON, WI (WSAU) — One person was injured in an accident involving a school bus in Portage County on Tuesday.
Sheriff’s officers say a bus was stopped along its route near County Road HH and Bayshore Drive with emergency lights flashing and its stop sign extended when it was hit by an SUV driving at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
There were several students on board the bus at the time of the incident. None of them were injured.
Speed and inattentive driving may have been factors in the crash.
