WAUPACA, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King has announced updated COVID-19 protocols, along with some good news to staff and residents.
According to WAOW TV Commandant Tammy Servatius has announced that there are no current, active cases of the disease on the campus. This combined with other metrics means the home can open up for visitors beginning later this month.
According to a release, visits will begin on March 22nd but appointments will be required. More information on other requirements and how to schedule those visits is expected to be announced later.
“We have all been waiting for the day when we could all be back together again, and it has finally arrived after a roller coaster year,” Servatius writes. “We mourn those we’ve lost and keep them close in our hearts. We will remember them as we begin to once again welcome visitors back into our buildings. We are thrilled our members can visit with their loved ones in person.”
In addition to having no current, active cases the home also has a low community positivity rate and a high vaccination rate.
