KING, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King has once again suspended in-person visits after an employee tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
A statement from Commandant Tammy Servatius that was obtained by WAOW TV said no residents of the home had tested positive and that all in-person visits after Wednesday, March 24th have been suspended.
The suspension follows guidelines from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services which calls for all visits to be suspended until one round of outbreak testing is complete. Servatius adds that they have already begun the testing process in hopes that visits can resume quickly if no other cases are found.
The home had just reinstated in-person visit guidelines on Monday. Servatius adds that family members should always communicate their plans to visit the home to make sure no restrictions are in place; including for reasons other than COVID-19.
