MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Once again the Brewers will open the baseball season at home under a closed roof.
The team announced on Tuesday that due to anticipated temperatures for Thursday’s Interstate 94 showdown with the Minnesota Twins, the roof over American Family Field will be closed.
The National Weather Service is currently calling for a high of just 35 degrees on Thursday, well below the traditional 60-degree threshold for closing the structure.
Of course, the roof will also close for anticipated rain or early and late-season snow.
Fans curious about the retractable roof’s status for a given date can call the 24/7 American Family Field roof hotline at 414-902-4636.
The retractable roof at American Family Field can be opened or closed in about ten minutes by moving three large panels along a fixed rail system.
