TOWNSHIP OF NORRIE, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – There was a fatal crash on Highway 29 last night.
The Marathon County Sheriffs Department reports that a tanker truck and an SUV collided around 9:30 near Bass Lake Road.
A news release from sheriff’s deputies says the SUV failed to yield the right of way while crossing Highway 29. The driver of the SUV was killed at the scene. The victim’s name hasn’t been released. The trucker was not hurt.
The road was closed into the early morning hours on Wednesday as an accident reconstruction team was called to the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
