WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Owners of the Wagon Wheel Supper Club in Wausau are in danger of losing their Class B Liquor License with the city following a decision Monday by the Public Health and Safety Committee.
City leaders have determined that the restaurant, owned by Brandenburg’s Wagon Wheel INC, hasn’t been open a sufficient number of days to allow them to keep a license. According to materials provided with Monday’s agenda packet, the action has been triggered by the business being closed for either 50% of days within either a one-year or 12-month (years overlapping) period, or for being not accessible to the public for a period of 30 days and/or has failed to maintain open and active accounts with its food and/or alcohol distributors.
Owners of the Wagon Wheel were not present for Monday’s meeting. A Google search for the restaurant shows it’s been “temporarily closed.”
The owners of the establishment will be subject to a formal hearing before the committee, similar to what happened with Roc’s Place Monday evening. No date for the hearing has been set, Committee Chair Lisa Rasmussen said that would happen after formal documents are drawn up and the committee can determine when they could have a quorum for it.
