MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The state reported 56 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, the lowest number of daily cases since March of last year.
The seven-day average also fell to 179 cases on Tuesday, the state Department of Health Services reported, down from 225 the previous day.
DHS also reported 56 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, three confirmed deaths. The seven-day average of new deaths is four as of Tuesday.
Since the pandemic began, there have been 610,224 confirmed cases and 7,094 confirmed deaths in Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, the state’s vaccination rates continue to rise. The latest DHS data shows 47.9% of residents have received at least one dose, while 42% have completed the vaccination series.
