WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man has taken a plea deal to avoid a longer prison sentence.
Monday morning 33-year-old Brian Shepler was in Marathon County Circut Court for a plea and sentencing hearing. Shepler was facing 10 felony counts of possessing child pornography for a 2019 incident where an account of his on the micro-blogging website Tumblr was found to have images of young girls being sexually assaulted by men.
The website deleted the blog and turned the files over to investigators. Investigators then notified Wausau Police after tracing the account back to Shepler’s home in the 900 block of S. 11th Avenue. A search of Shepler’s home found three cell phones, a laptop, and a tablet that matched the email address associated with the deleted Tumblr account.

He will also spend 15 years on the sex offender registry following his release from prison.
