The application period for the Farm Dog of the Year contest ends Friday, July 2nd. The federation explained that it’s a great way to shine the spotlight on the important role dogs play on American farms. “The Farm dog of the Year contest is really a chance to celebrate the important role that farm dogs play in farm families and on working farms. It’s a great way to connect with those outside of agriculture through our shared love of pets,” said the American Farm Burea Federation’s Vice President of Communications, Terri Moore.
She explained that there are multiple prizes for the contestants. “The Grand Prize Winner gets $5,000 in prize money and a year’s worth of Purina dog food, as well as being recognized at our convention. And this year, we also have up to four regional runners up that will each win $1,000 in prize money,” Moore said. “The People’s Choice Pup will also return for the 2022 competition. This is an online version of the contest. The winner will get some bragging rights and also a year’s worth of Purina dog food. And I do want to say we’re very appreciative to Purina for supporting the Farm Dog of the Year contest.”
You can submit nominations by July 2nd on the AFBF website.
