MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The makeshift Milwaukee Brewers bullpen imploded on Tuesday night as the Pittsburgh Pirates rallied to win 8-5 in 10 innings.
Milwaukee wasted a great start from Adrian Houser who took a no-hitter into the 7th before being lifted with the no-no still intact after reaching 104 pitches. The bullpen quickly let it get away.
The Pirates scored 5 runs in the inning against Daniel Norris and John Curtiss. Milwaukee scored a run in the 7th to tie it and could have won it in the 9th when Gregory Polanco robbed Eduardo Escobar of a potential walk-off home run in the 9th.
Polanco also had an infield single in the 10th that drove in the winning run.
Willy Adames went 3-5 with an RBI and three runs scored. Avi Garcia had three hits and three RBIs in the game. Rowdy Tellez also had an RBI.
The Brewers didn’t lose any ground in the standings as the Twins beat the Reds. Milwaukee is now 64-44 and will finish the series with the Pirates this afternoon….pre game show at 12:35 on WSAU.
