MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — The Milwaukee Brewers were down 2-1 in the 7th inning on Wednesday afternoon when Rowdy Tellez blasted a two out, pinch-hit, three run homer which led to a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates at American Family Field.
Luis Urias had walked and Manny Pina singled to set up the Tellez heroics. Eduardo Escobar had the other Brewer RBI in the 3rd inning driving in Kolten Wong.
Freddy Peralta pitched six innings allowing six hits and two runs. Brent Suter picked up the win, running his record to 10-5. Devin Williams recorded his first save of the season.
The Brewers, now 65-44, remain 7 1/2 games up on the Reds and have the day off today. They begin a three game weekend series against the San Francisco Giants on Friday in Milwaukee.
