WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Marathon County Board will consider the latest revision of the “Community for All” resolution Thursday evening.
The much-debated document will be studied by the Supervisors during the educational meeting.
The latest version of the resolution excludes the word equity, along with its definition for the County. The word has been a flashpoint for many who feel it could lead to a division of wealth or property.
The “Community for All” resolution started more than one year ago in the wake of the killing of George Floyd in downtown Minneapolis as a sign of support for minority communities. Since then it has gone through more than a half-dozen revisions as the community debates details of the wording.
