WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The man suspected of shooting an acquaintance who later died has entered a not guilty plea to charges of homicide.
Michael Turner was in a Marathon County courtroom on Friday where he also entered the same plea to other counts including being a felon in possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia and THC.
The charges stem from the death of a man in the area of Thomas Street in Wausau. Officers say Turner approached a vehicle then shot the lone occupant before handing the gun off to someone else and taking off in a different vehicle. He was arrested in Marquette County later in the day.
The victim was hospitalized and later died.
Turner is being held on a $1 million bond and will return to court on October 14th for another pretrial conference. No trial date has been set.
