MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Former Badger football coach and athletic director Barry Alvarez will be honored at today’s football game as the field at Camp Randall Stadium will be officially named “Barry Alvarez Field”
The 72 year old Alvarez retired earlier this year after 32 years at the University. He took over the football program in 1990 and compiled a 118-73-4 record with three Big Ten titles and three Rose Bowl wins.
It’s reported that over 100 of his former players will be in Madison for the ceremony this weekend.
The Badgers face Michigan and you can hear the game on WSAU…Badger Game Day begins at 9am…kickoff at 11.
