WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man convicted of shooting a tavern patron at the Kelly Club in Weston back in May of 2019 was sentenced in the case on Thursday.
Sergio Retana Jr will spend 30 years in prison followed by 10 years of extended supervision, with credit for 893 days spent in jail.
Retana was convicted of attempted homicide, recklessly endangering safety, and possession of a weapon by a felon.
The gunshots happened after an altercation between Retana and another person in the bar. Patrons disarmed Retana and held him until authorities arrived.
