STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A Stevens Point family is without a home after a fire early Sunday morning.
The blaze started just after 2am.
Firefighters say when they arrived, flames were coming out of the front side of the house. Flames were also coming out of the roof, reaching heights of 60 to 80 feet.
It took nearly three hours to get the fire under control.
“I think its important you are looking out for your neighbors and fire safety again is number one,” said J.B. Moody, the assistant fire chief of the Stevens Point Fire Department. “Listen for those smoke detectors and make sure everyone gets out of the home and call 9-1-1 as soon as possible ”
No one was home at the time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
