STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The Stevens Point City Council is set to meet Monday night to vote on a development agreement with Great Northern Distilling for a distillery, tasting room, and event space on Second Street.
According to a memo from Community Development Director Ryan Kernosky, the property at 1009/1013 Second street will have a minimum value of $1.5 million. The land will be sold to Great Northern for $1.00, and the city will also provide over $370,000 in TIF funds.
Those funds will not be paid out until certain benchmarks are met including proof of financing and a signed construction contract.
Plans were approved by the city’s Redevelopment Authority earlier this month. A timeline was not provided but according to Great Northern’s website, they plan to relocate in 2022.
Consideration of the development agreement is the only item on Monday’s agenda. The council will meet over Zoom at 7 PM.
