MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) — At the polls Tuesday, voters in Marshfield will be deciding an important school board race which could impact the future of the district’s curriculum, and possible plans for another school district funding referendum that could go before voters in the city of Marshfield early next year.
City Clerk Deb Hall says besides that hotly-contested school board race, half of the aldermanic seats are on today’s ballot too. According to Hall, “We have the even districts up for alderperson. So it’ll be districts two, four, six, eight, and 10, and the municipal court judge, as well as school board races.” A fairly high turnout is expected, according to Hall who added, “I’d estimate that we’ll have a higher turnout than we did for the February primary, so I’m guessing we’ll probably have 18 to 20%.” Also on Tuesday’s ballot in Marshfield and around the state is a race for Wisconsin’s State Supreme Court between James Daley and Ann Walsh Bradley; as well as a binding referendum changing how the court’s Chief Justice is selected. Hall reminds voters that all voting locations in Marshfield will be open today from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.
