Wisconsin Badgers
MADISON, WI (WSAU) – The on-again, off-again Wisconsin Badgers basketball game for Thursday night is… off.
The game against George Mason was canceled about five hours before scheduled tip-off because of multiple positive COVID tests within the Badgers basketball program.
A statement on the team’s website said: “Tonight’s Wisconsin men’s basketball game against George Mason at the Kohl Center, has been called off and will not be played.
The decision was made by UW medical officials after positive COVID-19 tests were found within the Wisconsin program.
All ticket holders for tonight’s game will be notified via email with next steps.”
George Mason was a late replacement for Morgan State, which canceled their trip to Madison earlier this week because of COVID positives within their basketball program.
The Thursday game will not be replayed. The Badgers are off until Wednesday, December 29, when they are scheduled to host Illinois State.
