MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) — A Merrill man is accused of torturing his girlfriend by waterboarding her. 22-year-old Dylan VanCamp allegedly covered the victim’s mouth with a washcloth and dumped water on her face while interrogating her about another man she had been communicating with online.
The criminal complaint says VanCamp pulled the woman out of her shower by the hair and threw her into bed, where he allegedly did the water torturing technique as an attempt to make her admit she was cheating on him. The complaint also says VanCamp had previously threatened to take a pliers and remove either a tooth or a nail to punish the woman.
VanCamp has been charged with nine felony counts including battery, strangulation and suffocation, and stalking. He will be back in court for an initial appearance March 16th at 1:30 in Lincoln County court.
