WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The case against former Marshfield Police Chief Rick Gramza has officially been closed.
Gramza entered a no contest plea to two counts of disorderly conduct on Thursday and received an undisclosed fine after the visiting Judge from Portage County found him guilty, according to online court records.
No further information about Thursday’s action was entered into the record, and the case is now closed.
Gramza had been facing as many as five counts in the case including misconduct in office, but those were dismissed in February of 2021 when a judge found a lack of evidence to support them.
He had been scheduled for a three-day trial in December, but that was removed from the docket in late November. Charges were then amended on Thursday to remove a count of 4th-degree sexual assault.

Charges had stemmed from accusations brought forward by a female member of the Marshfield Police Department who says Gramza made unwanted sexual contact with her, dating back six years. Gramza has said that the contact was consensual.

The accusations led to Gramza being placed on paid leave for several months. He reached a separation agreement with the city in March of 2021, and now lives in Shorewood.
